You can always count on Sesame Street to turn a pop song into a life long lesson.
Take the new song “Call Me Maybe” by Carly Rae Jepsen. Its catchy and has a pretty decent beat. A song I don’t mind cleaning my house too or listening while I’m stuck in traffic.
Okay, I’ll be honest. I don’t know much about music!!! I definitely can’t carry a tune, singing – that’s funny, and understanding good music – forget about it. But (and there is a but) I definitely like catchy songs. I like songs that I can remember, one’s I can sing too (albeit horribly too), and one’s with a great beat.
So, for now, I’m going to appreciate the fact that Sesame Street turned a catchy song into a life long lesson (and kept a catchy song). A lesson a 28 year-old can appreciate. After all, Cookie Monster is in an office setting…
but the true appreciation is the fact Mr. P and I were Elmo and Cookie Monster for Halloween in 2010.
Dedication folks. Dedication!
