In March I told you that I got a new smart phone and completed one of my 27 before 2013 New Year Resolutions. I thought I would take a moment and share a few of my favorite apps outside of the typical Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Pinterest apps. By the way, all of these are free.
I cannot explain to you how much I truly appreciate Sigalert. I use it every day to/from work so I can take the best route to avoid traffic. Sigalert features constantly updated, real-time road speeds, round-the-clock traffic reports from the country’s top traffic company, and the largest network of roadside traffic cameras in the U.S. Available on iTunes and GooglePlay!
Although I haven’t used Flightview a lot, I’m looking forward to using it with two upcoming trips this month. Flightview tracks upcoming and in-air flights, and receive status alerts via push notification. Check gate assignments, delays and cancellations and use the attractive flight map to see a flight’s progress. Save flight itineraries and add your own notes. Available on iTunes and GooglePlay.
How do I even begin to explain my love for Evernote? I use this app daily, especially with its “clip from web” feature, keep pins from Pinterest close by, and more importantly for me, I keep a copy of my physical therapy exercises along with my work-out schedule. Oh ya, I also keep track of Funday Monday videos that I want to post and other fun blog ideas. Evernote lets you take notes, capture photos, create to-do lists, record voice reminders–and makes these notes completely searchable, whether you are at home, at work, or on the go. Available on iTunes and GooglePlay.
I started using MyFitnessPal immediately once I got my iPhone but fell off the bandwagon. The last 2 weeks I’ve made it a priority – especially since I’m on a quest to lose a few more pounds before my weekend girls trip in Las Vegas with my BFF after the conference. MyFitnessPal is the fastest and easiest to use calorie counter. With the largest food database of any calorie counter (over 1.5 million foods), and amazingly fast food and exercise entry, and it helps you take those extra pounds off! Available on iTunes and GooglePlay.
If you have a membership with 24 Hour Fitness, then download this app! I use it all the time to check-up on the latest class schedules, access club information, and fitness tools too. Available on iTunes and GooglePlay.
Now we all know how obsessed I am with Instagram, but there are a few fun apps to enhance your photos. I like using Labelbox to highlight areas, label items in my photos in an artistic, creative and fun way. Labelbox is a simple, easy to use, photo labeler using a variety of beautiful tapes that stylishly labels your photos. Available on iTunes and GooglePlay.
I’m currently eyeing an app called Reeder. It downloads your Google Reader blog roll and other RSS feeds into this handy app. The only down side its $2.99 and so far I haven’t paid for any of my apps, so I’m still debating on whether its worth it. Available on iTunes but I couldn’t find it on GooglePlay.
There you have it ladies and gentlemen – a few of my favorite apps. If you have a smart phone – what are your favorite apps?
