Girls Night Out – Healing Hands for Arthritis

About a week ago I asked you to Save the Date for the event: Healing Hands for Arthritis where $10 from every massage or facial at Massage Envy on September 19th will go directly back to the Arthritis Foundation to fulfill the mission – improve the lives through leadership in the prevention, control, and cure of arthritis and related diseases.

As promised, I’m sharing the steps on how to turn this fantastic event into a Girls Night Out. There are a total of 8 steps, but right now I’m going to share 5 out of the 8. They are so easy and it only took me a half hour to put my event together. :)

Let’s get started, shall we?

Step 1: Create a list of people who you would like to invite to Healing Hands for Arthritis on September 19, 2012

I created a list of about 10 girls who I knew I wanted to spend some much-needed rest and relaxation with on this special day. I don’t expect all of my 10 girlfriends to attend, but it would be nice if two, three, or all 10 could join me. :)

Step 2: Go to www.massageenvy.com and find a Massage Envy location near you.

This was really easy! Massage Envy has made it really easy to find a location. I love it!

Step 3: To make an evening or afternoon out of it, identify nearby restaurants or coffee shops where you can kick-off or end your Girls’ Night Out

Since September 19th is a Wednesday, I know my girlfriends will most likely be working all day, so I wanted to keep the after party appropriate. I personally chose Jamba Juice since its within walking distance of my Massage Envy clinic, has multiple options for different tastes, and will revitalize the soul. An extra bonus for my selection – no reservations required and surplus of tables. Plenty of time to chat and catch-up. :)

Step 4: Customize our Healing Hands for Arthritis email invitation and send it to friends in mid-August

The Arthritis Foundation made this so easy!! My invitation is through Evite, so I just copied and pasted the text into the template and customized before sending.

Here’s the suggested language:

Let’s get together for some much needed relaxation, while also supporting a great cause!
On Wednesday, September 19, Massage Envy will donate $10 of every massage or facial to the Arthritis Foundation. All money raised will support life-changing research that will impact the 50 million American adults and 300,000 children living with arthritis.
As you know, arthritis is a cause that is close to my heart. [Insert a short personal story/connection to arthritis.]
Let’s meet at Massage Envy and then grab [Insert location] afterward!
When: Wednesday, September 19 @ [insert time]
Where: Massage Envy @ [insert local Massage Envy location]
RSVP: Let me know if you plan to attend! You can book your massage or facial directly at Massage Envy [insert location name & phone number]. Appointments are booking fast, so please reserve yours today.
Step 5: Once you get your group confirmed, book your massage or facial at your local Massage Envy clinic. Reservations fill up fast!

Don’t forget to book your own massage. We tend to forget ourselves when creating an event. Afterall, this event is all about much-needed rest and relaxation at your local Massage Envy clinic while also helping find a cure for arthritis.

So, here’s my challenge to you. I’m giving you a week to execute the first 5 steps! As I stated before, it took me a half hour to get mine out and most of that time was spent on creating my list of girlfriends I wanted to invite. :)

As an extra incentive, I’ll be hosting ANOTHER GIVEAWAY!! :)  Win a gift card to Massage Envy!!! :) Details will be explained next week as I cover Steps 6, 7, and 8.

Boys – if you want to create this event for your mother, sister, best friend, wife, or girlfriend, I’m sure they would love the surprise. Perfect opportunity to spoil them without it being attached to a holiday!

Of course, if anyone has any questions, need pictures, ideas, or help, please feel free to reach out to me. I’m here to help you make your Girls Night Out a success. :)

Much Love,
