Hi, My name is Peachy!
I’m 27 , married, I have 3 black lab puppies (all the same litter, all boys!) who sometimes I refer to them as THE 3 STOOGES! I also have 3 cats, who keep me company on my lap. Mr. P and I own a fix-and-flip; we’re doing more of the fixing on a SUPER long term basis, thanks to our chronic illnesses. Yup, that’s right! I have a chronic illness called ankylosing spondylitis; a form of arthritis. I’ve been diagnosed for 11 years now and have been on biologic infusion drug called Remicade for a little over 10 years. If I don’t get my Remicade every 4 weeks, I end up in excruciating amount of pain. Other than that I’m technically in ‘medical remission’. I also volunteer for the Denver Arthritis Walk and now more recently on the National Volunteer Committee for the Arthritis Foundation.
I am not a writer, so my grammar will be and IS awful! My spelling is only OK, and if you haven’t been able to tell, I use a lot of PUNCUTATION! I write what I know, and I write how I speak.
This blog is also 95% happy and 5% unhappy. I tell it how it is, but I look on the positive outlook on life. So, if you’re here wanting to read someone complaining, this is probably not the place. However, I am 100% TRUTHFUL! Even though I live with this disease, it does not have me, it never will, and I will always try to look at the positive side of things. Its been my crutch ever since I was diagnosed.
I guess the purpose of this blog is to explain this quote “I’m of the opinion that if I can live freely with my arthritis and realize there are treatment options and hope, I can create positive change.”
I provide my own opinions about my arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, with stories of what I’ve done in the past, what I’m doing now, and what I want to do as goal towards wellness and happiness! Every Monday I do a Funday Monday post! Every month, when I go in for my infusion, I’m giving tips on how to deal with yours. I also throw in a few random posts about my wonderful dogs, living in a fix-and-flip home, and just being a twenty-something with arthritis. This is my journey and I hope it helps you on yours!
