So I have yet another excuse for missing this week’s Funday Monday. I took yesterday off. 🙂 After Sunday’s Denver Arthritis Walk, I needed a day off. I mean a complete day-off. I stayed in my PJs all day, vegged out, watched TV and movies all day, and kept my phone off.
I had the most amazing time at the Denver Arthritis Walk on Sunday!! I was surprised by The Denver Channel – 7News and was awarded the 7 Everyday Hero Award! Someone nominated me!! Those few who knew, kept it secret from me!!
I am still in shock. I can’t believe it!!
Words can’t express the gratitude I feel. I am very honored, humbled, and I feel very blessed that this award bestowed upon me. I honestly couldn’t of done it without the wonderful Arthritis Foundation staff members, my dedicated volunteer committee, and my family and friends. I do not know who nominated me, but thank you.
For everyone that came out and walked in my honor, hugged me, congratulated me and/or donated for the Denver Arthritis Walk, I am forever grateful to you. We couldn’t have had a more beautiful day with beautiful friends and family!! We will find a cure!! THANK YOU!!!
And to answer your question – yes, that’s a crown on my head; made from my Remicade Warning label. All of my teammates put up with my crafty endeavor and proudly wore it. They even informed me that a lot of people were asking what it was made out of! YAY for awareness.
Ever have one of those shocking moments? One of those moments that will live with you the rest of your life? This was definitely one of them!
The interview will air the week of Sunday, June 17th. This is also perfect timing because my lady-in-laws (nan, mum, and sister-in-laws) and in addition, my brother, will all be in town to watch it. 🙂 I will post the times later so you can set your DVR, but if I remember correctly, there will be a video, so you bet that I will post it!!
Thank you for your continued support! We are truly one step closer to a cure for arthritis.
If you’re a newbie here, welcome!
