On Tuesday I shared pictures from the Annual Family Autumn Leave Trip we took this past weekend. As promised, I would talk about the famous burger joint in Buena Vista, CO.
If you’re looking for a great place to visit in Colorado – Buena Vista is the place to go. Its a few hours away from Denver, but a beautiful road trip, none-the-less. 🙂
One of our favorite places to stop at in Buena Vista for food (and probably our only!) is “K’s Old Fashioned Burgers” Restaurant.
If you want good burgers, shakes, and a laugh, this is the place to go. Most of my family ordered burgers and shakes. Mr. P ordered a grilled chicken with fries and onion rings. I ordered two corn dogs and a strawberry shake. Don’t judge! Its been FOREVER since I’ve had a corn dog. When was the last YOU had one? EXACTLY!
However, I do have to stay that unfortunately I had really bad heart burn about 6 hours later. What can I say? Its a combination that I’m used too and should have known better. A lovely combination of the fact that I did little exercise that week because I was sick, haven’t had fast food for a long time, I have a lovely but really short torso, and was completely cramped in the car for hours on end. But what can I say other than IT WAS CORN DOGS, PEOPLE!
So, if you’re going to visit, and you haven’t had fast food in a long time, and being cooped up in a car is a problem for you anyway, grab the Tums. NO JOKE!
Anyway, that wasn’t the funny part. I said this place was a laugh. A real hoot! Instead of taking your name down for the order, they give you a celebrity name. Like Reese Witherspoon, Elvis Presley, and John Elway. HA HA!
This place also has outside seating but very limited indoor seating. Its totally set-up like a 1955 joint but without the roller skating. BECAUSE that’s dangerous. But one thing I do love is the GREAT outdoor park nearby. Its so pretty this time of year!
So, what did we learn? “K’s Old Fashioned Burgers” Restaurant is a great place to go, remember your Tums (CORN DOGS PEOPLE!), and go on a nice sunny day.
Yes, ladies and gents – keeping it REAL!
