Waving and Advocating

Today is WORLD ARTHRITIS DAY!! And although I didn’t go as crazy as I did last year with the Blue-ness, I did wear some blue (which I think is fantastic that I remembered considering I just came back from a week-long work trip!!) and waved.

Don’t judge. I’m pretty exhausted so I wouldn’t say this is one of my better photos, but we’ll just go with it…mmmmmkkayyy?? 😉

There’s still time to wave!! Did you know that they’ve collected more than 55,000 people waving for World Arthritis Day (WAD) from over 80 countries so far?? WHICH IS TOTALLY, 10000000000% COOL. The Waving gallery will remain open until 31 October, so please keep sending in your waving pictures. Click here to add your waving photograph or video now!

I also celebrated by writing a letter to First Lady Mrs. Obama. Yup, a letter! In honor of World Arthritis Day, I joined the other arthritis advocates to reach out to First Lady Michelle Obama and thanking her for Let’s Move!: a campaign focused on getting kids active and preventing obesity in America. If you have a moment, please join me in asking Michelle Obama to include arthritis in her Let’s Move Campaign.  No matter what your politics may be, obesity is associated with arthritis, heart disease and diabetes.  This program teaches children and their parents the benefits of good health.  It will save our country billions of dollars in health care costs.  You can write your own letter to Mrs. Obama and send to: letsmove@who.eop.gov or you can visit the following website and use a pre-drafted letter.

What did you do to celebrate World Arthritis Day?

Much Love,
