Life Lately

 

Thinking: About my Summer Bucket List. I have three amazing books I want to read this summer. They are Inferno: A Novel by Dan Brown, And the Mountains Echoed: A Novel by Khaled Hosseini, and of course, The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald.

Contemplating: Turning off my personal Facebook page; at least for awhile. To be honest, I deleted the app from my iPhone yesterday and I felt like a weight was lifted.  And no, it has nothing to do with the NSA. HA!

Considering: a Detox. My stomach has been, and still is, in knots ever since I had a bad piece of pizza over 10 days ago. It gave me the worse arthritis flare I’ve ever had. I think it’s time I tackle this forgotten New Year’s Resolution.

Feeling: every single kind of emotion you can think of. I think I’m over emotional because my system is all out of whack. I’m one hot mess!

Anticipating: Buying a house, moving, and being with Mr. P again. So close, yet so far away. This anticipation is probably not helping my feelings category.

Craving: Yoga. I really miss it. I miss my summer Yoga in the Park where I could feel the grass between my toes and the sun on my skin. It took me 7 years to find a Yoga in the Park in Denver, but it still doesn’t stop the craving. Well, my determination is only stronger!

Excited: For this weekend. The Waltham Farmer’s market opens this weekend and I’ve heard amazing things about it. You will find me there.

  1. You should try the clean cleanse. Really great! I had colitis and since I did this cleanse and have really changed my eating for the most part to follow it’s guidelines I have never had colitis again. YOu’ll love it. YOu feel great and look great too!

    The stress of moving is intense but Doug & I are two weeks away from getting all our worldly belongings (well maybe half of them since we are de-cluttering) into a truck & driving across country. But the lead up & the hurry up and wait is extremely difficult and takes its toll on anyone – for those of us with a chronic illness it can be devastating to our health and emotional well being.

    PLEASE do these things to you mention to honor & take care of yourself. AND… when you are ready for a Maine weekend getaway you have a place to come and stay to chill and be spoiled with a glass of wine & an understanding ear.

  3. I started juicing and it has literally been the best thing for my body (I have Systemic Lupus and experience a lot of arthritis related symptoms.)

    Wheatgrass is another great detox for the body, add it to your smoothies (sans citrus.)

    There are books/sites dedicated to different juice/smoothie recipes that help alleviate inflammation etc also!
